IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Mat Slaughter

To say Mat Slaughter is strong is an understatement. His 9.5 year battle with cancer is something only a warrior could endure. Through it all, he never lost his spirt or slowed down. He lived each day of his life for his family. He left behind his wife Amber and their children Drew (KaLeigh) Slaughter, Lauren Slaughter, Sam Slaughter, and Braxton Slaughter. As well as his parents Earl and Barbara Slaughter, sister Amanda (Tim) Corey, and grandchildren Kane and Banks Slaughter.

Mat was an avid sports fan, whether it was watching sports on tv or watching his children play sports. He loved coaching football and basketball. He coached in Greenwood and Center Grove collectively for over 20 years. Mat's dedication to health and fitness is what kept him going each day. From riding his bike 20 miles to working out daily in his home gym, he was always staying active. Even until the end you could find him in his home gym trying to keep up his strength for the fight.

On September 28th 2024, heaven gained one hell of an angel.

Before Mat passed, he made it known he wanted us all to share a laugh and raise a glass in celebration of his journey home.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at The Barn at Bay Horse Inn on October 8, 2024 from 4p – 7p.

Mat will have a private funeral service with military honors.
